Well, the Pats play the jets today at one, which means it will either be unwatchable at halftime, or not watchable until halftime. So it's to the stream on this lightly snowy day. Looking for a winter holdover or maybe a stream bred brookie.
I think I ran into you out there today as that rod looks familiar. I was heading upstream to the stone wall section if that was you I spoke with. I got one bite, but nothing to the net.
NC, I'm new to the area and am wondering in which section of the river this photo was taken? Also, which pool is "cable pool"? I am only familiar with the area around the rail trail lot on River St. in Holden. Just picked up my first fly rod and am itching to get in the water
This photo was taken just above the mouth of the QUinzapoxet river, where it waterfalls into a flow controlled stretch of river, continuing into the waachusett reservoir. You can see the large wall that abutts the pump station in the right of the photo.
As for the cable pool, that is located where Trout Brook empties into the quinapoxet. There are two parking lots off Manning St (where trout brook flows under). You can park and follow the trail downstream until you reach the river. The cable pool is the large bend, you cant miss it.

ReplyDeleteHi Dave, that was me. Nothing down by the waterfall either. Maybe a bite. Might head back this weekend,
